During raids on 20 February, the team found nitrous oxide canisters, 2,397 illicit vapes and 16,060 illegal and counterfeit cigarettes, as well as an axe.

The same team, led by Birmingham Trading Standards, conducted raids in the area the previous week when they also found illicit and counterfeit products.

The raids took place as part of Operation Elevate, a multi-agency initiative to crack down on crime in the West Midlands.

According to Washwood Heath Police, “We have been working with Birmingham Trading Standards and visited a number of business premises in the area. A number of illicit and counterfeit products were seized and action will be taken against the businesses.”
